Voice Acting Tip #6 Empty Voice Acting Tip #6

Today's tip is on time management. Listen, we all get busy in life. Some moments are much more busy than others. For me, things have gotten busy with a new job and a move, so up until now, I wasn't able to devote as much time to voice acting and producing as I wanted.

I'm sure you all know the feeling. Most of us have school or jobs or some other life thing to keep us way, way too busy. Voice acting, especially in the amateur ranks (as many of us are), is a hobby that some of us may want to make into a career.

The best thing to do is manage your time as well as possible. If you're a part of a project, do what you can to get your lines in on time. If you need an extension, ask for one. I've never seen a producer that got mad at their actors for asking for an extension as soon as something came up. Life gets in the way of good voice acting, so all you have to do is ask for an extension and you will most likely receive.

In addition, if you're producing, let your actors know when time is starting to get tight for you. You don't want your actors wondering just what happened to the radioplay when, really, you're just too busy to devote as much time to it as you want. I'm guilty of that, too. It happens to the best of us. Communication is key in all facets of life and jobs, so you want to make sure to do just that: communicate. Information is a good thing. Smile

Then, on those occasions when you do get some free time, devote a little of it to your voice acting. I'm not saying spend every minute of free time voice acting, but if it's something you enjoy, you should try to do it as much as you can. Have some fun with it! Don't look at it as a job...look at it as an adventure!

So, there you go. Bomberman, out.
